Went to the beginning tai chi class today. See, I signed up last time they offered the 6-week course, but I hurt my back after only two classes and missed out on the rest, so I was hoping that the teacher would let me take it this time without paying again. So that's why I went.

Anyway, there was a bit of a snafu, because the teacher had lost track of the date and didn't know the class was starting today. Oops! So she was 40 minutes late for a 50-minute class, and I didn't get a chance to talk to her. But I will approach her next week and ask if it will be okay.

Also took Cobweb to the vet today, because Shannon and I had become concerned about her weight loss. She has lost more than 3 pounds in the last year and a half, and it's quite noticeable. The vet seemed quite concerned and said we'd done the right thing by bringing her in. Apparently this is really not normal. The vet is going to call us tomorrow with results on some blood and urine tests. I hope it's something not-too-serious and easily treated. I'm trying not to get too worried.

Well, it's off to bed with me.

I'm thinking good thoughts for Cobweb. Maybe it's a thyroid condition and a pill will take care of things? (Not that daily pilling of cats is fun, but at least that would be a fairly simple thing to deal with.)

I second that. Our girls (age 17) have thyroid conditions and have done quite well on medication, though it's clear that they're nearer the end of their lives than the beginning. Why do we have to get so attached to critters who have such short lifespans? I guess it's better than not doing so.

Wishing the kitty good luck!

And I envy you the tai chi. That's the thing I most wish I was doing that I'm not doing.
