I've read about 100 pages of Singularity Sky, but I'm not enjoying it. Too sciencey. I think I'm going to set it aside and instead read Patricia McKillip's The Book of Atrix Wolfe, which has always appealed to me because of its beautiful cover. I always eyed it in bookstores, but recently noticed that it was on Shannon's to-be-read shelf. It has to do with wolves, which always interests me, so I think I'll give it a try.

I've been getting to spend a lot of time with Shannon this weekend, because he hasn't been working or gaming. We even played a couple games of Lost Cities, which we haven't done in a long time. For quite a while, I wasn't really interested in playing games, so we got out of the habit, but I'm back to liking it now. I'm still not really interested in spending hours and hours playing games like Shannon does when he goes to Endgame, but I like playing a game once in a while. Especially if it's Lost Cities, a Carcassonne, a Mystery Rummy, Alhambra, Boggle, or Memoir '44. Or Tichu, which is my favorite game right now.

Shannon wanted me to cut his hair for him today, but I finally put my foot down and said I don't like cutting his hair -- it makes me very anxious -- so we went out and he got a professional to cut his hair. It looks much better than I was able to do for him. It's funny to see him with short hair again after he let it get so long. I can't even remember when I last cut his hair for him.

I haven't been sleeping well lately, and I'm feeling very tired, with shaking hands and such. We're going to see a play tonight at Berkeley Rep, and I hope I don't get sleepy during it. I've been looking forward to it. I'll write about it tomorrow.
