Le Funny

Today I watched a VH-1 "I Love the 90s" show about the year 1990, and it was just too funny. My favorite part was Dominic Monaghan (Merry from LOTR) crying, "Stop! Hammer time!" and then proceeding to dance like a complete dork along with the song "You Can't Touch This." Hee! I watched it three times in a row, laughing out loud every time. Hee! Dorky dancing hobbitses! Hee!

I was also amused by Hal Sparks (Michael Novotny on Queer As Folk) singing "Nothing Compares To You" in an eerie Sinead O'Connor impression, complete with overwrought facial expressions and fake tears.

Then this evening Shannon and I watched the amazing film Adaptation, which I will probably write about in more detail tomorrow. Right now I just want to kick back and continue reading Craig Thompson's graphic novel Blankets, which reminds me quite a bit -- thematically and emotionally, anyway -- of his wonderful little book Good-Bye, Chunky Rice. Good stuff.
