Sorry I haven't written in ages. The occipital neuralgia headaches are back. Or, rather, headache singular, because I've had the same headache non-stop for the past 6 weeks or so. Today it's a 9 on the scale of 0-10. Fun fun. I've tried acupuncture, I've tried massage, I've tried doing my PT stretches much more often. Nothing is helping. In the past, the only thing that really helped was the frickin opioids. And I'm never doing those again unless I break a bone or get stabbed in the eye or something.

But, so, basically, any journal entries I wrote right now would be mostly about how fucking badly my head hurts. So I haven't been bothering to write those journal entries, because there's only so many days in a row that people would be interested in reading that the same fucking headache is STILL here and that I'm still miserable with it.

I did have a nice day with Shannon at the Palace of the Legion of Honor on his birthday. The art exhibits were a good distraction, and distraction is the only thing that helps with the headache right now. If I do something distracting enough (watch a very engaging tv show, listen to Shannon read aloud a very engaging chapter of the book we're reading, read good fanfiction, write fiction myself, etc.), I can forget about the headache temporarily. But then I finish doing whatever it is, and I'm not distracted anymore, and it's like suddenly the headache just comes rushing back in full force and I'm clutching my head in shock and surprise. "My god! I have a terrible headache!" And Shannon's like, "Well, duh." We've both just kind of gotten used to it being a constant part of our lives again.

And the only other thing I would probably write about—aside from headaches—is Dan and Phil, my YouTube obsessions. Luckily for me, they are very distracting. But none of you would care about any of the things I would write about them, so I'll just keep writing about them on Tumblr and Twitter instead and spare you the tremendous excitement of listening to someone else drone on about stuff you not only don't care about but don't even know anything about. I mean, if you're obsessed with skiing and you ramble about it incessantly, at least I know what skiing is. I might be bored to death, but at least I know what you're talking about. If I were to drone on and on about Dan and Phil, you guys (including Shannon, who has never watched any of their videos to the best of my knowledge) would have no idea what I was even talking about. So I'll just say that they're funny and they're interesting and they're kind and they distract me from my headaches.

Okay, enough about headaches and Dan and Phil. I don't really have anything else to talk about. I turned 47, and I bought myself a cake from Katrina Rozelle, because I figured if I was feeling rotten on my birthday at least I could have a really nice cake. And it was, in fact, a really really nice cake. Lemon chiffon with strawberries in the filling. And we've been watching "Legion" on tv, which has been interesting. I like the creative directing. We've also been watching "Broadchurch," but the woman police officer in it annoys the hell out of me.

Okay, I have nothing else to write about. But maybe that's because my head is hurting so badly that I can't really think.

Aren't you glad I finally wrote a journal entry, so that I could mention my headache every 2 seconds? Sooooo interesting!
