Beta agonists > bronchitis?

Yesterday evening, I got a prescription "beta agonist" called Xopenex in an inhaler, and I think it may be helping with the bronchitis. The doc predicted that it would take at least 3 days before I saw significant relief, but also that I would see some improvement every day.

So I took it for the first time around 6:30 last night, and still felt like utter crap all night. I continued to take it every 4 hours, and around 5 this morning things seemed to lighten up a bit. I still feel very sick, and I'm still coughing an ungodly amount, but I slept a tiny bit longer each time I fell asleep, and when I inevitably woke up to a coughing fit I coughed only 7 or 8 times in a row, instead of 20+. And the coughing never got intense enough to me feel like I was going to pass out, have an aneurysm, vomit, or asphyxiate.

So ... my tentative verdict? Beta agonists could potentially rock. I'm not making any absolute judgments (or even plans for next week) based on 5 hours of lessened misery, but 5 hours of lessened misery are still 5 hours of lessened misery. I'll take 'em! Here's hoping for 5 more!
