*cough* *cough* *sniffle*

Ugh. I have a bad cold, so I'm achey (body aches, headaches, and occasional *ear* aches) and congested and coughing and exhausted and ... well ... whiny. Katherine and I had reservations to go to Lovejoy's for tea today, but I had such a bad night that I wasn't up to going out to the city, even for Lovejoy's (which I'd been looking forward to for *months*). And Katherine had taken the day off work, too!

Instead of having a delightful tea with little sandwiches and pastries, I mostly sat around the house and slept. I got Thai food for dinner, and the spicy green curry actually helped a lot with my congestion (which was my reason for buying it). I was feeling so much better after the spicy food that I actually got some stuff done (scanning photos, messing around in Photoshop, minor housework, etc.) before crashing again.

Well darn. I was really looking forward to cucumber sandwiches today. And lemon curd. Some clotted cream. Maybe some watercress (which always makes me think of E. B. White's Trumpet of the Swan, one of my favorite books). In fact, Lovejoy's has some funky sandwiches I haven't seen anywhere else, such as cream cheese w/green apple and cream cheese w/Mandarin orange. Weird! I seem to remember really liking the apple one.

Sigh. I hope Katherine will be able to make time to go when I'm a bit less plague-ridden.

And now my Nyquil is knocking me out, so I think I'll go to bed, leaving you with a couple pictures of my mom and me on our travels (pics I scanned today while reaping the benefits of hot curry).
