Les poissons, les poissons, how I *love* les poissons; love to chop and to serve little feesh

Feeling much better today, though running errands in the afternoon totally exhausted me. At least my coughing is down to a dull roar. It was *fabulous* to finally be feeling well enough to get a bit caught up on stuff that needed doing (laundry, dishes, post office run, etc.).

Got lots done today, including rooting through old/off-season clothing to find stuff to take with me on our upcoming trip to Kauai to visit the in-laws. Fortunately, I had stashed away some summery-type clothes that fit me at my current weight.

I also went through books to figure out what to take on the trip. Last time, I was trying to read Salman Rushdie's Midnight's Children, and that didn't go so well. It isn't exactly a relaxing-on-the-beach kind of book. So this time I'm picking out some fantasy novels, some Fables trade paperbacks, maybe a mystery, maybe some other lightweight stuff. I'll also take some audiobooks, because those are significantly easier to pack than the paper kind. :)

I bought a bunch of cartoon "theme songs" on iTunes yesterday, because they amuse me. The album includes lots of songs from The Little Mermaid which my housemates and I used to sing over and over again when I was an undergrad (including my absolute favorite, "Les Poissons" with its wonderful Franglish), plus theme songs from my childhood, like Mighty Mouse, Underdog, Spider-Man, Speed Racer, Tom & Jerry, The Justice League, Josie & the Pussycats, Jonny Quest, Fractured Fairy Tales, Felix the Cat, Casper the Friendly Ghost, and Rocky & Bullwinkle. When I put my iPod on "shuffle," I love getting a cartoon song once in a while.
