Felt old when my 21-year-old SIL didn't know the origin of the phrase "going postal." She had no idea why postal workers would be identified with workplace homicide, specifically. It made me realize that the last time a postal worker came in with an uzi and mowed down his co-workers was probably either before she was born or was when she was a baby.

I grow old … I grow old … I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled. Or maybe that's just because I'm short.

Today I went for a walk up to Walgreens and enjoyed myself immensely. On the way home, I was admiring all the reds and golds of the autumn trees when suddenly I noticed the sky. Wow. Very dark clouds. I got home, came inside, and within 5 minutes rain was just lashing down outside. I was lucky.

I've been listening to C.S. Lewis's The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and I'm finding it fun. I think it may be my favorite of the Narnia books so far. It certainly contains my favorite of the Narnia characters: Eustace.

I've been feeling sick today, but I'm still hoping to bike tomorrow. I'll see how I feel in the morning.

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader was one of my favorites, second only to The Silver Chair!

Whether or not you are interested in this post, you'll like the Prufrock references at the end.

Oh, and I had no idea that "going postal" was generational, but when you say it it makes sense.
