New Computer

Been setting up the new computer (with its ginormous 20" monitor) for the past several hours, starting yesterday and continuing today. I've run into many problems, but only two that I have not yet succeeded at solving:

1. My purchased music from iTunes won't play. It asks me for my AppleID and password, then gives an error message and says to try again later. I will try again later.

2. My Palm Desktop won't let me transfer my user data from my old machine. When I try to copy to the new machine, it keeps telling me that I don't have permission to look at the files. I've changed the permissions to make the files read/writable by everyone, but the problem persists. This one is causing me some despair, because I think I have tried everything and have run out of options.

The iTunes problem was easily solved. My only remaining problem is with Palm Desktop, and that seems to be a problem with syncing. I decided to sync my Palm to my old Mac, then sync it again with my new Mac, thereby transferring all the necessary information. But the sync with my old computer is not being completely successful and I can't figure out why. Very mysterious.

That, and I have very few desktop backgrounds that look good at 1680x1050.

Oh, and I can no longer use my Photoshop program, because the one I have is old and requires the OS 9 Classic environment, which isn't supported anymore. Bummer. I'm pretty upset about this.
