Books and Comics

Finished The Well of Lost Plots today, and the final 1/4 was far more interesting than the first 3/4. I'm still very interested to read the next book in the series, but I worry that it, too, will take place in the BookWorld, keeping Thursday's real-life problems on hold. After typing that, I went to read the synopsis on Amazon, and apparently the next book takes place in the Outland (real world), so I'm pleased. It seems to take place a couple years later, which is unusual for the series.

Then read the latest Jack of Fables trade paperback, then the latest Y: The Last Man trade. Jack of Fables continues to underwhelm me, and Y: The Last Man continues to enthrall me. I always lose track of the story in Y between one trade and another, so I'll probably sit down and read the whole series through again once it's finished. It's my favorite of the comics series that Shannon reads. Apparently, the author of Y: The Last Man -- Brian K. Vaughan -- has been doing some writing for the new Buffy comics, which makes me more interested in reading them.

So tomorrow I move on to The Left Hand of Darkness. Plus I'll enter more books in the Xenagia index, as always. I've been keeping pretty busy, watching relatively little tv, which is a good thing.

If you're interested in science fiction, fantasy, or horror books, you should check out the index at Xenagia. You can enter books into the index if you're so inclined, or you can just rate stuff that's already in there. If you like to give your opinion, here's a place where it would be helpful for you to do it.
