Got sick a couple times today. Ugh.

Still enjoyed lunch with Lisa, though, and we played some Dominion. We talked a lot, as always, and that was nice.

The weather today was remarkably sunny and warm. Everywhere I went, there were people in shorts, carrying big coolers, wearing sun visors, sprawling on every small spot of available grass. Our weather has been decidedly schizophrenic this spring. Well, actually, "bipolar" would be more accurate than "schizophrenic," but that's not the vernacular.

The Netflix DVD I was expecting to arrive today (and which their website tells me should have arrived) was not in the mailbox. And it's a 3-day weekend. So I will have nothing to watch for the next 2 days. I am sad. I haven't been watching much tv lately, anyway, since I keep falling asleep, so maybe I'll just sleep all weekend.

I've decided that I'm going to try to consume less sugar, for multiple reasons.

1. I eat and drink a *lot* of sugar (especially fruit juices), and I know this kind of thing can eventually lead to diabetes. That's the last thing I need.

2. I'm spending tons of money on sugary stuff, such as ice cream at Ici and pastries from Crixa Cakes. I've spent most of the money I had built up, and soon I will be down to just my weekly $20, which isn't really enough for extravagances.

3. I have gained too much weight. My clothes don't fit right anymore, and I've come to the conclusion that I either need to buy new clothes or start eating more sensibly. The cheaper (and healthier) option is to change my diet.

So we'll see how it goes. I'm determined. But I'm going to try not to diet (not the way I used to, anyway), but rather just to incorporate more healthy foods into my diet. Experience shows me that I will not have so much appetite left over that I'll pig out.
